Collaborative Efforts & Echoes of Home: The Path to Robust Change

Hello!

Another week has zipped by here in Delhi, marked by collaborative endeavors, creative online engagements, and a touch of nostalgia.

The highlight of the week was an interactive workshop aimed at refining the almost-final theory of change for the Second Chance program. We invited the wider team to gather online and participate in this crucial exercise. The goal was to ensure alignment and robustness in our goal, intervention, and problem statements. Through a virtual platform called Miro Board, I designed an activity that allowed participants to contribute their thoughts using virtual post-it notes. This was followed by in-depth discussions during the call, which provided invaluable insights. I was genuinely thrilled with the feedback, and I'm now eager to finalize this theory of change mapping.

In parallel, preparations for our upcoming field visit have been in full swing. The focus here is on designing the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) that will help us measure intangible impacts. A thorough literature review provided insights on how best to approach this. From there, I formulated measurement metrics in alignment with the life skills module dimensions of the Second Chance program. Each dimension, such as interpersonal and leadership skills, now has specific questions tailored to assess them.

Outside the hustle of work, I had the chance to explore Gurgaon over the weekend. There, I stumbled upon neighborhoods that struck an uncanny resemblance to parts of Jakarta, my hometown. This unexpected connection filled me with a warm sense of nostalgia and made the weekend truly special.

All in all, it has been a week brimming with productivity, creativity, and personal reflections. As always, I'm thrilled to share these experiences with you and can't wait to unfold more of this journey in the coming weeks.

Until next time,

Safira
