Hello!
It's been a whirlwind of a journey during my first three weeks at Pratham. My time has been filled with new learnings, vibrant experiences, and unexpected wildlife encounters! Although I've been caught in a flurry of activities, I'm committed to keeping you updated about my adventures and progress in Delhi.
On my very first day in the office, we had a special reason to celebrate – it was my supervisor's fourth anniversary with Pratham! The warmth of the celebration set a wonderful tone for the journey ahead.
Stepping into my first week, I plunged into the task of mapping the theory of change for the Second Chance program. This crucial undertaking involves three primary steps:
Firstly, I sat down with the dedicated team here to clarify the objectives of the task, ensuring we were all on the same page.
Next, I conducted external and internal research. This phase included scouring educational websites and national Indian publications, as well as digesting Pratham's annual reports and alumni surveys. Crucially, it also involved in-depth interviews with the heads of the Second Chance and Women's programs.
The final step in the pipeline is a workshop with the broader Second Chance team, aimed at gathering their invaluable insights and perspectives on the program.
In terms of progress, these initial weeks have revolved around designing the framework for the theory of change. The work is both challenging and rewarding, and not without its fair share of excitement.
Outside of work, I've had a chance to sample some of Delhi's culinary delights and start exploring the city. However, a bout of illness during my first weekend kept me from venturing too far.
Even with this small setback, I remain enthusiastic about my internship and exploring more of Delhi. I'm eagerly looking forward to sharing more of my journey with you!
